How to prepare images for entry in the competitions.   To include:  print mounting & preparing PI competition entries;  also discussion of what makes a winning image using a CD from the CACC's Chiltern Hundred Competition.

We only have until the 2nd of October to submit pictures for the Park Street Landscape Competition.   Please send your possibles to Henry at di@stacameraclub.org.uk as soon as you can.   Files should be best quality jpegs sized at 1400 x 1050 pixels with any excess canvas filled in with black - just the same as ones for our own competitions.

Talk at the Verulamium Roman Museum on "Photographing Gardens" at 7;30pm.   This is billed as a practical event as well as a talk by an Peter Brandon who worked at Kew Gardens.   Entrance to non members is £3.00.
There will be opportunity to display pictures for Dr. Brandham to comment upon.

Club Evening - Practical Portrait Session
This is a practical meeting on portrait photography led by Chris Drury.   Bring your cameras, Chris will provide the lights.  There is an additional charge of £3.00 to cover the costs of the model.  This promises to be a really good evening so come along and improve your portrait skills.

VISIONS 2011

This is a projected digital image competition aimed at the individual competitor, with the option for any club to pre-nominate a team of 3 individuals. Nominated team members will automatically be entered in the individual event. Individual entries will be accepted from any club member (subject to overall numbers) even if their club has already entered a team.

It will take place on Wednesday 30th November in the Cedar & Sycamore halls at the Stanborough Centre Garston. Doors will open at 7.30pm

This is a new format for XRR replacing Pre-Visions;  it will be a good evening well worth supporting.

PHOTOIMAGES 2010 - The selected exhibition will be hung in the Queens Park Art Centre, Queens Park, Aylesbury on 16th January and will be on view until the 11th Feb.   The normal times of opening for the Queens Park Arts Centre:-   Mon - Thurs 10 am to 9.30pm ,Fri. 7to 8 pm, Sat 10 am to 2pm & 7 to 8pm   You can check by ringing 01296 424332.

To find the Queens Park Art Centre use the A41, Tring Road, to the Tesco roundabout and take the first exit - Walton Road. Queens Park is the second on the right. Alternatively use the A413 - Wendover Road, until you reach the small one-way system near Stoke Road. Go nearly round this system and again take Walton Road . Queens Park will then be on the left.

The first meeting of the “Beyond the Camera Club Focus Group” will be at 8pm, in the lounge of the Duke of Marlborough Public House, which is situated at the bottom of Holywell Hill near Westminster Lodge.   There is free parking on the main road after 6.30pm for those travelling by car.

Club Evening - We judge and discuss the Prints.
Please bring 2or 3 prints to the evening.   These can be prints that have been entered in the League or new ones.   Please don’t bring ones that have won a place in the League.   If you have a print with which you are not entirely happy, it could be an opportunity to get some feedback.   Members that do not produce prints themselves will be very important to the evening.
